Devizes Market Place – Every first Saturday of the month

Our Traders and Producers come from a 30-mile radius of Devizes and they have either grown, reared or made their products, generally using local grown/reared ingredients. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging, so ask them a question about their product line – they are always happy to help.

The concept of a farmers’ market is not a new one. Far back in history farmers have bartered and sold goods. A farmers’ market simply sells locally produced goods to local people. They benefit the locally environment by:

• encouraging small-scale less intensive productio
• reducing the effects of long-distance transport of goods
• reducing packaging
• they benefit producers and consumers by providing a social meeting point, giving them direct contact with each other
• encouraging goodwill and understanding between rural and urban populations.
